Coast Mountain Expeditions has a second remote eco lodge offering B&B hostel accommodation, kayaking day trips and sea kayak rentals. Discovery Islands Lodge is located at the end of the Surge Narrows Road on Quadra Island, near Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada.

Our coastal building with dock and floats is accessed by a pleasant rainforest road through Main Lakes a BC Provincial Park.

Our kayaking lodge is located right in the middle of Discovery Islands wilderness protected areas and near British Columbia provincial parks and BC marine parks. We have excellent sea kayaking right out the front door and out-back are rainforest hiking trails, warm swimming lakes and abundant west coast nature.

At Discovery Islands Lodge we are pleased to offer: B&B hostel accommodation, guided kayak day trips in Surge Narrows Marine Park, kayak skills instruction, and sea kayak rentals for experienced paddlers.

Accommodations

• We have hostel-style rooms, single, double, or family, all with shared bathroom facilities.

Kayak Day Trips

Next to Discovery Islands Lodge, Surge Narrows Marine Park is a beautiful marine reserve with tidal rapids and amazing intertidal life. We offer guided kayak day tours in the marine park and surrounding ocean wilderness.

Kayak Rentals

We have kayak rentals available for people with previous skills and experience. Coast Mountain rental kayaks are high quality fiberglass single and double kayaks.

Whitewater kayaking

It’s an option! Our ocean is calm and sheltered, but we also have tidal passages which offer whitewater kayaking excitement when the tide is running. You can also enjoy the whitewater tidal rapids as a vicarious thrill if you hike or paddle to nearby viewpoints.
