Thanks for a wonderful trip – spectacular views, amazing food and a chance to challenge ourselves. It was inspiring to see an outfitter that respects the environment and the people/animals that live in it.

Surge Narrows Marine Parks & Outer Islands Tour

BC Provincial Park sea kayak tour & British Columbia lodge adventure

We begin this wilderness kayaking adventure with an exploration of the Surge Narrows Marine Park and first night in a spectacular oceanfront location at Coast Mountain’s Discovery Islands Lodge on Quadra Island. Our first day kayak touring through the back-eddies of the tidal rapids area shows off the wild beauty and biological diversity of this remote BC provincial park. Discover the myriad of marine life at shoreline tide pools, let eagles and seals be your entertainment and enjoy the thrill of tide and salt wind.

After a whole day of exploring, we'll paddle back to Discovery Islands Lodge for dinner and evening activities: perhaps a short hike in the surrounding forest wilderness where we might view Surge Narrows tidal rapids from the safety of shore, swim in the lake at the nearby BC provincial park, or just relax and enjoy our wood-fired sauna on the lodge dock!

Next morning we'll pack up our kayaks and journey by sea kayak towards the towering British Columbia Mountains.

Our water path meanders along rainforest shores and small islands; we'll likely spy mink, otters and dolphin along this sea kayak tour of remote provincial parks and BC wilderness. Camping two nights on our paddle journey, we'll sleep under dark skies and a canopy of stars, waking to morning's fresh air and another day in paradise!

We round out this delightful islands & nature kayak camping adventure with a candlelight finale at Coast Mountain's secluded homestead lodge. Last morning we’ll enjoy a boat-ride retracing our kayak route and return to our starting place at Discovery Islands Lodge.
