Weekend Kayak Camping
Weekend Kayak Camping Tour
A short Vancouver Island sea kayaking tour in provincial parks.
If you want a real getaway and you only have a little time, consider our weekend kayak camping tour! This is a short kayaking adventure that includes 2 days of kayak touring and an overnight under the stars. It's easy: you bring happy energy and we supply the rest! Our short kayak tour route is a delightful paddling path to local Discovery Islands marine/park area at either the Octopus or Rendezvous Islands. (Route may depend on tide and weather conditions.)
The island shorelines provide exciting paddling, forested shores and intertidal zones rich with marine life. This Discovery Islands archipelago near Vancouver Island is part of the world's largest protected Coastal Douglas Fir rainforest ecosystem. On our sea kayaking expedition, we’ll kayak in shallow intertidal waters and see a myriad of colourful sea creatures just below our paddles. The island campsites are especially beautiful settings where we'll make sleeping comfortable in good tents - after we provide a delicious evening meal, perhaps more exploring, a campfire, tall tales and stargazing...
This guided trip starts at Discovery Islands Lodge on Saturday morning and returns Sunday afternoon. You'll have time to travel home, or at least get on your way. Or stretch your getaway with another night at Discovery Islands Lodge!
This British Columbia sea kayaking tour is designed to pack maximum adventure into a short expedition exploring some of Vancouver Island's most fascinating marine environments. All specialized equipment and food (guiding, kayaks, tents, food, etc.) is included in the price, and we can supply rain gear, sleeping bag, and pad for a small fee. Mostly…we just need you and your spirit of adventure!
